A Pretty Book

A Pretty Book – A blog celebrating pretty books, libraries, collections, shelves, stores. I have to tell you, I am smitten. Not only with the lovely design we created but with the content. I love books. I’ve been known to take pictures of books and book stacks before. I can look at the images loving curated by JT for hours. Libraries in Italy? Oh yes, please. Photos of people reading in various places in Italy? More of that too. This site is fun and lovely.

Design Notes: JT sent me a photo of some books to represent her color palette idea. Blues and silvers. Vintage books with beautiful textures. I started with the Fashionista child theme and basically torn it down to bare bones to rebuild my vision and suit the functionality requested. I’m so happy with the end result.

One of my favorite pieces is this background I created.

Go check out the live blog at aprettybook.com.  And while you are there read about the connection JT has with the books I used for her header image (it wasn’t even intentional).

Bravo Thauna!! This website is adorable, it really takes you to old libraries and smell of books with history…and the background adds some mistery to it :) a 10!

Interesting background design. I like how subtle it becomes once all information is presented on the page layout. It’s a well thought out piece of graphic design that compliments the theme and helps the reader focus on the content.
